Kirk Herbstreit, a highly respected college football analyst, recently discussed the possibility of Sanders appearing on the cover of the highly-anticipated video game EA Sports College Football 25.

During an episode of the Streit Talk Show, hosted by Herbstreit's sons Tye and Jake, the College Gameday analyst was asked about his thoughts on who should grace the cover of the game. Herbstreit mentioned that last year, if the game had been released, Caleb Williams would have been a strong contender. However, this year, with several big names entering the draft, he believes that Shedeur Sanders is a massive name with a significant following, making him a potential candidate for the cover. Herbstreit also mentioned Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes teammate, Travis Hunter, as another possible option.

Sanders himself seemed to express interest in being named the cover star in a since-deleted tweet. He cryptically wrote, "@EASPORTSCollege knows the right thing to do," indicating his desire for the honor.

Impressive College Career

Looking at Sanders' college career, it is evident why he has garnered attention and praise. He joined the Jackson State Tigers as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. As a true freshman, Sanders showcased his skills by throwing for 3,231 yards, 30 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions. He completed an impressive 65.9% of his passes and also contributed three rushing touchdowns.

In his sophomore season, Sanders continued to excel, throwing for 3,732 yards, 40 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. He improved his completion percentage to 70.6% and added six rushing touchdowns to his tally. However, ahead of his junior year, Sanders decided to transfer to the Colorado Buffaloes, following in his father's footsteps.

Despite doubts about his ability to succeed at the FBS level, Sanders proved his critics wrong. In his junior season with the Buffaloes, he threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns, and an impressive three interceptions. His completion rate improved to 69.3%, and he added four rushing touchdowns to his impressive stat line. Despite speculation that he could enter the 2024 NFL Draft, Sanders has chosen to return to the Buffaloes for his senior season.

Contender for EA Sports College Football 25 Cover

Shedeur Sanders has undoubtedly made a significant impact in college football in a short amount of time. His talent, statistics, and growing popularity make him a strong contender for the cover of EA Sports College Football 25. Whether or not he ultimately receives this honor, there is no denying that Sanders is a rising star with a bright future ahead of him in the world of football.
